Job description

We are looking for a passionate, capable, and proactive Data Engineer to help us realize our vision. Working within one of our agile squads this role will design the data architecture needed to enable analytics capabilities, develop ETL pipelines, data-marts, test suites, support the deployment of ML/AI models, and potentially extend the functionality of PowerBI through development of custom widgets and add-ons.  You will be supported by a team of dynamic and enthusiastic colleagues and a fully-cloud, fully-azure data infrastructure.

Your activities will consist of:

• Development and maintenance of new and existing ETL pipelines supporting the implementation of a global ERP system
• Development and maintenance of API connectors for ingestion of data from various 3rd party applications
• Development and maintenance of custom PowerBI widgets and add-ons.
• Support the set up and maintenance of a global Azure Data Lake
• Support the implementation of a data processing system (Azure Databricks)

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A BSc/MSc in computer science, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, data science, statistics, analytics, or related discipline
• 3+ years professional experience with declarative (SQL) and imperative object oriented (preferably Python, JavaScript, Scala) languages
• 2+ years building ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Airflow or similar
• 2+ years’ experience developing and maintaining relational (MSSQL, Postgres) and/or non-relational databases (NoSQL)
• A solid grasp of relational database design patterns and normalization principles
• A solid grasp of software engineering principles: Writing clean code, design patterns, testing, API development, network communication protocols (SOAP, REST, FTP, SFTP…), requirements gathering, and documentation.
• Demonstrated experience creating scalable, automated, and monitor-able data pipelines
• Demonstrated experience administrating cloud platforms
